Sony launches in-car audio to match digital lifestyle

Play your digital music collection on the move

Easily connect, hide and control any MP3 player

Search hundreds of tracks and playback clips

Auckland, 25 May, 2010:- Sony has announced the launch of a completely new car audio concept developed to match the growing tendency for the digital listening style. The new Sony Xplod DSX-S100 has been designed for music-loving auto enthusiasts tackling the daily hassles of using digital media players in the car.

Nowadays, MP3 players are carried in place of CDs and connected to a system wherever you go. The hassle when it came to in-car audio experience was the messiness of the cable hanging from the head unit or the rattling of the loose player when connected in the glove compartment. Now the DSX-S100 makes these problems something of the past with the “Tune Tray” – a unique system to easily connect and neatly store away your portable player. The “Tune Tray” protects your digital music player from accidental damage and you will never forget it again: Smart technology reminds you if your device is still inside the compartment when the engine is switched off.

The detachable faceplate is sleek in design and has a 2-line LCD display. Users can connect, control and charge virtually any type of portable music player (USB, iPod, or Walkman®) to their car stereo with Smart technology. In addition, Quick BrowZer™ helps users quickly find tracks stored on their digital music players or MP3 encoded CDs. Users can search by artist, album, genre, playlist, file or folder by simply rotating the volume dial and pressing to select.
