World First AC3200 Ultra Wi-Fi Modem Router Au/NZ Exclusive

For immediate release

D-Link Launches World’s First AC3200 Ultra Wi-Fi Modem Router Exclusive to Australia and New Zealand

The ‘TAIPAN’

SYDNEY, 11 November 2015 - Following on from its hugely successful DIR-890L AC3200 Wi-Fi Router which was the first from its Ultra Performance Series, D-Link has launched the TAIPAN, the world’s first AC3200 Wi-Fi Modem Router exclusively for the Australian and New Zealand markets.

The TAIPAN is an 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (N600 + AC1300 + AC1300) Wi-Fi Modem Router that uses Tri-Band Wi-Fi and D-Link’s unique Smart Connect technology which seamlessly distributes traffic over the three dedicated Wi-Fi networks for maximum performance.

D-Link ANZ MD Graeme Reardon said, “D-Link again sets the performance benchmark with the TAIPAN. Off the back of the VIPER, D-Link’s AC1900 Modem Router and the DIR-890L AC3200 Router, both receiving accolades amongst expert reviewers and end-users alike, the TAIPAN takes these successes to the next level again. With the explosion of online, streaming and gaming services the TAIPAN fills the gap for households wanting the very best in an all-in-one wireless AC modem router solution, which caters to even the most demanding user of streaming services, or what we call Extreme Streaming.”

Like the DIR-890L, the TAIPAN has six distinctive high-gain antennas all of which use advanced AC SmartBeam technology to provide a very high level of enhanced Wi-Fi coverage and blisteringly fast speeds even around the largest of homes.

Connectivity is king with the TAIPAN and it boasts four Gigabit LAN ports including one configurable Gigabit WAN/LAN port to connect to an NBN service or to enhance an existing Cable Modem. Then there’s the in-built ADSL2+/VDSL2 modem for connecting to a DSL-enabled phone line for a high-speed broadband Internet connection.

TAIPAN continues D-Link’s philosophy of adding convenience to every day home tasks and as a result offers both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports so users can easily connect storage drives, printers and many other devices for sharing across the home or via the SharePort™ mobile app, anywhere in the world.

TAIPAN also raises the bar in terms of speed and security with its 1GHz dual-core processor producing some of the industry’s fastest routing speeds and its Dual Active Firewalls (NAT/SPI) firmly in place controlling traffic and preventing exploits and intrusions. There is also Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) to quickly and securely add additional devices to any network and industry-standard WPA/WPA2 encryption for further security.

The majority of D-Link’s next generation smart connected devices now use the mydlinkTM Lite Mobile App which is available for Android, iOS and Windows Phone devices, as well as providing access via the mydlinkTM web portal, and the TAIPAN is no exception. Having been specifically developed and designed for today’s modern smart connected home, both the portal and app easily enable users to remotely access, view, and manage their devices making the TAIPAN one of the most powerful, yet easy to use Wi-Fi Modem Routers available on the market today.

Availability and Pricing
The TAIPAN is available in Australia and New Zealand only, from www.dlink.com.auand throughout D-Link's network of retailers, resellers, channel partners, distributors and online retailers with an RRP - $579.95 inc. GST in Australia, and $649.99 inc. GST in New Zealand.
