Greens Playing Hypocritical Politics
New Zealand First Deputy Leader Peter Brown backs the call for a public referendum on the Crimes (Substituted Section 59) Amendment Bill.
“It is absolutely disgraceful for Sue Bradford of the Greens to deny any form of public referenda on her ‘anti smacking’ bill,” said Mr Brown.
"She has stated that Parliament should and must make the decisions, and then announced that if Parliament amends her bill by voting for the Chester Borrows amendment she will pull her bill.
"Such an attitude reflects that of a spoilt child and will tend to make the public view Parliament and MPs with even more contempt,” concluded Mr Brown.
