CMJ Traffic Bulletin: Saturday 6 To Friday 12 September
Lane and ramp closures continue on the Southern Motorway as work progresses on Stage 1 of the Central Motorway Junction upgrade project. Some local roads and streets will also be closed.
Saturday 6 to Friday 12 September
The Wellesley Street off-ramp (heading into the city) – CLOSED – from 7am Saturday 6 September to 7pm the following night, Sunday 7 August.
The Khyber Pass on and off-ramps and parts of Khyber Pass Road – CLOSED – during the day from 6am to 7pm Sunday 7 September. Traffic using Khyber Pass Road will be diverted through Boston Road and Auburn Street.
The Khyber Pass off-ramp, parts of Khyber Pass Road and parts of Boston Road – CLOSED – at night from 8pm to 6am, Monday 8 and Tuesday 9 September.
The Khyber Pass on-ramp – CLOSED – at night from 8pm to 6am, Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 September.
Choose alternative on- and off-ramps during these times.
Alternative routes will be clearly signposted at the roadworks sites. All closures are weather permitting, and in the event of bad weather, work will be postponed until the next clear night. Temporary barriers are erected and cones placed in all areas.
Motorists are advised that there could be delays.
Ongoing closures until 2005:
Southern Motorway between the Gillies Avenue on- and off-ramps and the Symonds Street over-bridge – lane closures at night until 2005.
The CMJ Project
Stage 1 of Transit’s Central Motorway Junction upgrade project covers the section of motorway between the Upper Queen Street over-bridge and Gillies Avenue on- and off-ramps and is scheduled for completion in 2005.
