Grafton Gully Project – More Changes

Changes for motorists continue in the Grafton Gully area as work on the project progresses.

· Upcoming closures: Wellesley Street off-ramp (northbound heading into the city) - CLOSED from 7am on Saturday 13 until 7pm Sunday 14 September.
·
· The Wellesley Street / Port off-ramp (northbound) will be closed at night from 8pm to 6am from Sunday 14 to Thursday 18 September.
·
The Grafton on-ramp to the Northwestern (SH16) and Southern Motorways (SH1) will be closed over the weekend from 8pm Friday 19 to 6am Monday 22 September.

· The Strand/ Ronayne Street intersection: Work is taking place on The Strand/ Ronayne Street intersection in the lower Gully area, Monday to Saturday from 7am to 7pm. The following traffic movements are restricted:

· No right turn from The Strand into Ronayne Street.
·
No right turn from Ronayne Street into The Strand.

All other traffic movements are possible; however, there may be delays as capacity through the area is reduced. Southbound traffic heading along The Strand will be most affected with only one southbound lane open.

The work forms part of the major changes being made to the road layout of the area including The Strand/Ronayne Street, The Strand/Parnell Rise and Stanley Street/Beach Road intersections.

Grafton Road/Stanley Street intersection: Until the end of September, major services work is being undertaken at the Grafton Road/Stanley Street intersection everyday between 7am and 7pm.

All traffic movements, including access to the motorway are being maintained throughout the work. There may however be some delays as major changes are being made to lane markings.

The changes are required to allow for work on sewer and storm-water lines to be undertaken.
Motorists are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Pedestrians should take care and be aware of restrictions to footpaths and changes to intersections.

Temporary cones and barriers are in place throughout work areas.
