Temporary Traffic Diversion
- SH1 Kent Terrace
Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists that a temporary traffic diversion will be in place at the Kent Terrace/Ellice Street intersection on Thursday 20 April from 7:30pm - 2:00am.
A new signalised crossing will replace the current zebra pedestrian crossing at the basin reserve end of Kent Terrace. In order to construct this crossing, a new overhead gantry needs to be erected which will require the closure of this piece of Kent Terrace.
Vehicles will be diverted onto Cambridge Terrace during the construction work.
Transit capital projects manager Peter Martineau said that the work may cause delays in the area and motorists are encouraged to use another route to access the Eastern and Western Suburbs.
"The work should be completed by early Friday morning, however the work is weather dependent and if conditions are not favourable, the work will need to be delayed until Sunday 23 April," he said.
Transit New Zealand thanks motorists for their patience while this work is underway.
