Supporting the Sarah Lili Fund
Supporting the Sarah Lili Fund
The Sarah Lilli
Fund, was created by the Payne family in Wellington (in
memory of their daughter who died of a three years ago at
the age of 10) and administered by Barnardos to give
disadvantaged children the chance to pursue an interest or
enjoy a special celebration that otherwise would be out of
their reach.
... The fund has been running on a trial basis for five months (with money donated by the Sarah's family) and has provided help to 50 children throughout NZ so far. The sorts of activities funded included guitar lessons, dance classes, soccer gear and subs, school trips and a special train journey.
Many of these children have had difficult lives and the impact of being able to get involved in something of interest has had a great impact - therapeutic, building self-esteem, helping children fit in and socialise with their peers.
The Paynes and Barnardos are now asking others to support the Fund and help other children.
