Students Stand Up! Stand Out! At Manukau's Performing Arts Awards
Secondary school students from across the Auckland region are invited to enter the Manukau Secondary Schools Performing Arts Awards.
The annual awards celebrate excellence in music and dance, from classical to contemporary, jazz to hip hop.
Heats will be held on 10, 17 and 24 August at Otara Music Arts Centre and entry forms are now available.
"We are looking for students who really love what they're doing, practise hard, and are ready to show their stuff," says Art Events Manager Chantelle Whaiapu.
Guaranteed to be a night of high energy and outstanding performance, the final and awards night on 31 August is open to the public and provides a great chance for students to perform in front of a crowd.
This year, prize money of $7500 is offered to schools ready to take up the challenge.
Entry forms are available from Manukau Arts Centres or from the Stand Up! Stand Out! Administrator, phone (09) 275 0482.
