Climatech Regional Lifeguards assist 20-year-old male at Bethells Beach

At 1457 this
afternoon three Climatech Regional Lifeguards (Christopher
Butt, Luke Stockman and Caleb Starrenburg), assisted a 20
year old male that had a seizure while at Bethells
Beach.
The patient was unconscious when lifeguards went to his aid.
Lifeguards attempted to administer oxygen however the patient began vomiting so they were unable to apply oxygen consistently. He was placed in the recovery position and an ambulance was called via Surfcom.
The patient gained consciousness but was still in serious condition. He had history of seizures.
The patient was transported to hospital by ambulance.
Caleb Starrenburg, Regional Lifeguard Patrol Captain says the rescue added to an already busy day for the three Lifeguards stationed at Bethells Beach.
"Previous to assisting the patient having a seizure, the lifeguards had just come back from searching for three people and had earlier rescued two French tourists."
