City remembers its former Mayor
Mayor Hon. John Banks offered the family of former Mayor of Auckland, Colin Kay, condolences on behalf of Auckland City Council today.
“Colin Kay was a man that dedicated his life to public service and civic duty,” said Mr Banks.
“He was a good man who worked tirelessly for many good causes and for a city he loved.”
Colin Kay was Mayor of Auckland city from 1980 to 1983.
The flag on the Auckland city Town Hall will fly at half-mast today as a mark of respect.
