Time to vote in Otara Community Board by-election
Electors of the Otara ward will be able to vote in the Otara Community Board by-election when they receive their voting documents in the mail from Tuesday 7 October.
There are two candidates standing for election for the position of Otara Community Board member. The election will close at midday on 29 October and preliminary results are expected to be announced soon after.
Electoral officer John Skelton says residents and ratepayers of the Otara ward can still enrol to vote, if they have not done so already. The roll closes for participation in this by-election at the close of business on Tuesday 28 October.
Any electors who have not yet enrolled to vote will need to cast a special vote. For more information on special voting, please phone the council’s Call Centre on 262 5104.
Meanwhile in other Otara Community Board news, the board elected Tunumafono Ava Fa’amoe as the chair.
The council is reminding voters that this is separate to the general election coming up in November this year.
