Update Gas leak North Shore.
A preliminary assessment of the gas leak has satisfied the Fire Department that evacuation is not required at this time. A reasonable breeze is assisting with the dissipation of leaking gas. However the Fire Department advise that residents in the vicinity of Glenfield and Manuka Roads, should stay in their houses and keep windows and doors closed.
Ace Gas have indicated that repair of the pipeline may take some hours.
Traffic flow in the Glenfield area has been severely affected with lengthy delays expected. Police urge the public to avoid the Glenfield area if possible.
