Oil Spill In Viaduct Harbour
MEDIA STATEMENT
Tuesday 19 February 11am
The Auckland Regional Council’s harbourmaster’s team is currently dealing with an engine oil spill of approximately 180 litres in the Viaduct Harbour.
The harbourmaster was alerted to the spill at 1am His team are continuing to contain the spill; booms are in place and they are skimming oil from the surface.
At this stage it is unclear which vessel has caused the spill. ARC staff will begin investigations in due course.
