Rescue Helicopter called to a Quad Bike Accident
Wellington Westpac Rescue Helicopter called to a Quad Bike Accident at Castle Point in the Wairarapa
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called this afternoon 12th April 09 at 4:30pm to Quad Bike accident on the beach at Castle point in the Wairarapa. The rider of the Quad bike was a 15yr old female from Fielding.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter responded to Castle Point with a Wellington Free Paramedic onboard. The helicopter was able to land on the beach near the crash scene. On arrival the there were two females who had been on the Quad bike and were both being treated by Wairarapa Ambulance personal on scene. The other patient was transported to Masterton Hospital via the ambulance while the more serious of the two was transported back to the Wellington Hospital Emergency Department in the Helicopter. Members of the public had covered the patients to keep them warm until the Emergency services had arrived
The patient in Wellington is in a stable condition and being treated for Head, Neck and back injuries.
