DW Homes strikes gold in Auckland

DW Homes strikes gold in Auckland

“We’re ready for the Supercity – we’ve already been judged among the best in Auckland!”

That’s how a delighted Damian Walworth of Waiuku-based DW Homes received the news on Friday night that his company had collected its first gold award at the prestigious Auckland Master Builders House of the Year awards.

The gold award, for DW Homes’ first showhome, will take pride of place at the company’s Waiuku offices, along with the three silver and two bronze awards they have received in the past two years.

The Colombo Road, Waiuku, showhome illustrates the total commitment to design and build quality that characterises DW Homes’ projects, and Damian says a key element of that commitment is that, despite the growth of the company, clients still deal directly with the owners. That’s important, he notes, because it brings with it a confidence for the client that every project is personally important to him and his team.

“We had a lot of pride in the showhome, and felt it really did showcase our build quality as well as our technical and design skills. We were confident it would be in the running for an award, and to receive gold is just fantastic,” Damian said. “We’ve got a great team, and it was an honour to collect the award on their behalf.”

The announcement of the Master Builders award, at Friday’s glittering function at the Skycity Convention Lounge, caps off a stunning year for DW Homes. The company has in the last few months seen the completion of a million-dollar-plus exceptional family home on the Awhitu Peninsula, as well as residential properties in Pauanui, Hamilton and throughout Franklin. DW Homes was also the successful tender for a Ministry of Education contract to design and build a library complex for Pukeoware School, a project which came in under budget, six weeks ahead of schedule, and received glowing testimonials from the school’s Board.

Despite the past year being a lean time for many sectors of the building and real estate market, Damian says DW Homes has gone from strength to strength, increasing its market share and continuing its development as one of the leading home companies in the region.

Damian says their growth and success are a combination of their streamlined business structures and the versatility of their operation. Features that attract clients include DW Homes’ ability to produce design plans and concepts quickly, and more importantly, effectively, through a design team that includes in-house architectural designers.

“We have all the skills and experience available within our own company,” Damian explains.

“In fact, we are probably the fastest in the industry to convert a client’s concept into a formal design. In many cases it’s inside three days, although we generally target to have it done inside five.”

“Our architectural designers have years of experience in the building industry, which means from the very start your designs are sensible solutions to the build requirements.”

With another medal in the cupboard though, there’s no time for Damian and his team to rest on their laurels. With a range of residential and commercial projects underway both locally and throughout the northern region, DW Homes is looking toward the future with confidence – and are already planning their entries for next year’s Master Builders awards!
