Passenger numbers rise on Rotorua’s Cityride buses
Rotorua’s Cityride bus service recorded its highest number of passenger rides with 61,385 in the month of September.
These figures have exceeded those for September last year by more than 4500 passenger rides.
Environment Bay of Plenty Transport Committee Chairman Andrew von Dadelszen said it was particularly pleasing that the Cityride bus service was continuing to generate growth in passenger numbers.
“Passenger numbers grew 20 percent in the previous financial year, and the eight percent increase for September indicates that Rotorua residents continue to value this service,” Councillor von Dadelszen said.
“Environment Bay of Plenty is committed to smarter transport options for Rotorua, and passenger numbers show that we have growing support from the Rotorua community.”
