Protocol signing between council and Te Arawa Lakes Trust
ROTORUA 17.12.09: A protocol agreement is being signed tomorrow to strengthen the relationship between Rotorua District Council and Te Arawa Lakes Trust.
Mayor Kevin Winters says the purpose of the protocol is to promote effective engagement and interaction between the two parties.
“This is a great opportunity to build the relationship between the council and Te Arawa Lakes Trust, particularly as we work together on priorities such as structures on our lake beds, Lake Okaro, and the Lakefront redevelopment.”
Te Arawa Lakes Trust chair Dr Toby Curtis says the signing is a combination of willing engagement between Te Arawa Lakes Trust and Rotorua District Council to consolidate and strengthen their relationship.
“This protocol articulates the nature of the engagement moving forward and provides confidence to both parties and their respective representation, and benefits to the Rotorua community as a whole”.
The protocol agreement signing is taking place at the Rotorua District Council Civic Centre tomorrow [18 December] at 9am.
