$3 Million Powerball Won in Auckland

For a second week in a row, a Lotto Powerball player has beaten the odds and won a multi-million dollar Powerball prize, says NZ Lotteries’ Chief Executive, Todd McLeay.

The winning Powerball ticket was purchased at DVD Central in Otahuhu, Auckland and is worth a total of $3.5 million made up of $3 million from Powerball First Division and $500,000 from Lotto First Division..

“Last week a Powerball player in Whanganui won a Lotto Powerball prize of $4.3 million and in early January a Powerball prize of $9.3 million was won by a lucky Christchurch player,” says Mr McLeay.

One other Lotto player won $500,000 on Lotto First Division tonight. The winning ticket was sold at Countdown Carlyle in Napier.

Strike Four was not struck tonight and will jackpot to $200,000 for next week’s draw.

Tonight’s other big winner was Zoe West from Christchurch who won $175,000 on Lotto’s Winning Wheel.

Five Lotto players have also won the chance to win up to $1 million on Lotto’s Winning Wheel after tonight’s Winning Wheel bonus draw.

“Anyone who bought their ticket from any of the above winning stores should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any NZ Lotteries outlet," Mr McLeay says.
