The Canterbury Show is back!

The Canterbury A&P Association is celebrating tradition, with the naming of its annual Show reverting back to the well known and established ‘Canterbury A&P Show’.

The Canterbury A&P Show is the premier agricultural event in the country, drawing the largest audience of any single event in the South Island. Attracting on average 110,000 Show visitors, 600 trade exhibitors and over 7000 livestock and feature competition entries, Canterbury hosts New Zealand’s biggest and best A&P Show.

“Despite some of the worst weather experienced in over ten years, last year we still managed to maintain our position as the country’s largest Agricultural and Pastoral Show. This year will be no different as we look forward to holding the same successful event that Canterbury has hosted for the past 148 years” commented Show Event Director Rae Finlay.

A truly national event and a showcase for international agricultural excellence, the Canterbury A&P Show brings together the best of all things rural, combined with entertainment and commercial exhibits over three days in November.

“There are a considerable number of Association Members and Cantabrians who couldn’t be happier with the name change; they are definitely proud hosts of the country’s biggest A&P Show. Plus with the 150th Anniversary of the Canterbury A&P Show approaching in 2012, the timing couldn’t be better as we begin preparations for celebrating this very special event” added Finlay.

The 2010 Canterbury A&P Show will be held Wednesday 10 to Friday 12 November at Canterbury Agricultural Park, Christchurch.

Applications for trade exhibitor sites at this year’s Show are now open.
