SH2 Horokiwi slip
repairs – northbound lane closure
The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) advises motorists heading north on State Highway 2 one lane in the vicinity of Horokiwi will be closed for four nights from Sunday 29 August to Wednesday 1 September 2010.
Wellington Operations Manager, Mark Owen, said the closure periods will be from 8pm each evening through to 5am the following morning.
“The temporary closure of the inside northbound lane will allow access for contractors to carry out work to repair the slip that occurred on the western side of the highway on Sunday 8 August.
“As the repair to this slip is weather dependent, if wet weather occurs we may need to reschedule this for another time. If this happens, we will advise the public accordingly.”
Mark Owen said no other closures or restrictions are planned and as this work will be undertaken at night, no significant delays are anticipated.
“We apologise to motorists for any inconvenience while this work is carried out.”
