Taste of Auckland showcases Auckland’s culinary talent and the city’s best entertainers

Taste of Auckland music director Peter Urlich has scheduled a spectacular line-up of local talent to create the perfect atmosphere for Auckland’s tastiest weekend, 18 – 21 November.

With a mix of classical, crooning, French café jazz, Cuban inspired samba and a cocktail of funk, soul and House, everyone will be able to find their ultimate beat at the Taste of Auckland Monteith’s Bandstand.

“People come to Taste of Auckland not only for the food, they want the perfect package of gastronomy and entertainment”, says music director, Peter Urlich.

“Everyone involved is really looking forward to performing. It is a fantastic event to be involved in and we have a great mix of established artists and emerging talent excited to take the stage and do what they do best – entertain.”

Young Kiwi tenor, Will Martin whose first album debuted at No. 1 on the UK Classical charts leads the billing, performing on opening night ahead of the launch of his second album the following week.

Friday afternoon sees Orquesta Amadeus, Cuban inspired samba and jazz, team up with Club Manouche whose French café jazz was a hit at last year’s festival.
The evening swings into action with inimitable crooner, Grant Chilcott and DJ Murray Sweetpants takes over and gets the party started with his mix of funk, soul and house.

Taking the stage over the weekend is one of New Zealand’s most promising singer/songwriters, Lisa Crawley; sexy chanteuse and flautist, Trudy Lyle; funky Jazz quartet, Chur Chur Mojito; classic jazz sax-player, Lewis McCallum and young singer/guitarist Josh Leys.

His second year as the event’s music director, Urlich has once again set up Taste FM, his own hand selected soundtrack of delicious tunes that will run continuously throughout the four-day event.

The ultimate music degustation for Auckland’s new favourite foodie festival, the taste of Auckland is the place to relax in the sun and enjoy fine cuisine, gourmet produce and an amazing array of wines.
