Lotto Winner All Revved Up With New Car!

A Lotto winner is all revved up with excitement after winning a prize of a Lexus RX450H 4WD and Rae Line Cruiser Boat package with Lotto’s Holiday 200 Promotion.

“It’s completely unbelievable. I never thought I would be able to drive a car like this, let alone own one!” says Carol, the lucky winner.

Carol and her husband Marty are regular Lotto players and have been purchasing their tickets from husband and wife owners Arpana and David Patel of Manuroa Superette for over 10 years.

“We’ve always played Lotto, but have had only a few small wins, until now,” says Carol.

“I went into the shop and handed over our tickets to be checked, when the terminal made a noise and the screen come up saying we had won a major prize. I flew out of the shop and yelled at Marty to get out of the car and come in because we had won!

“He thought I was joking,” laughs Carol.

After years of not owning her own car and borrowing her husband’s ute, Carol was excited to get behind the wheel of her brand new Lexus.

“I got to choose the colour and everything. We even got a personalised number plate, with my name on it as well,” says Carol.

“We’ll be definitely looking after it – the kids have been told there is no chance of them borrowing it!” laughs Carol

“We had to take out extra insurance, however, the car has its own guard with our pet Rottweiler,” laughs Carol’s husband Marty

“The first road trip in the new car is already in the plans – it’s going to be to Woodford for a couple of coffees,” says Marty.

Meanwhile, the winner from last week’s Big Wednesday draw has yet to come forward and claim their $5.2 million prize package, made up of $3.5 million cash, plus an Aston Martin DB9, an Audi A4 Avant, a Visa Platinum card loaded with $250,000, a $250,000 cash towards luxury travel prize package, a Luxury Four Winns V258 boat and $750,000 cash prize towards a bach. The winning ticket was sold at Take Note Te Kuiti.

Anyone who bought their ticket at this winning retailer should check it immediately, write their name on the back of the ticket, and take it in to a retailer or contact us at NZ Lotteries.
