SKYCITY Support for Christchurch
SKYCITY Entertainment Group will donate $500,000 to the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal and it has also set aside up to another $250,000 to match donations made by its staff across Australasia.
CEO Nigel Morrison says SKYCITY wants to show its support to the people of Christchurch who face a monumental task in rebuilding their city.
“In these challenging times we want the people of Canterbury, in particular our 500 staff from the Christchurch Casino, to know that we are ready and more than willing to help where we can.”
SKYCITY has also made available donation boxes at its properties in Auckland, Hamilton, Queenstown, Adelaide and Darwin.
“Our customers and staff will be encouraged to donate to the Christchurch appeal through these donation boxes. SKYCITY management will meet on Monday to discuss other ways in which we might be able to make a contribution,” says Mr Morrison.
The Sky Tower has been illuminated red since last Tuesday in association with the Red Cross to raise awareness for their appeal. Donations can be made by calling 0900 RED CROSS (0900 73 327) or to www.redcross.org.nz
