Ziptrek General Manager gets the chop and ‘Shaves for a Cure’
Sitting in the chair for his charity head-shave at Queenstown Barbers this morning, (Friday 8 April) Stu Cordelle was already past the halfway mark on his $1,000 fundraising mission.
The Ziptrek Ecotours General Manager donated his head of hair towards the Leukaemia and Blood Foundation (LBF) ‘Shave for a Cure’ fundraiser and with the generous support of friends, family and local businesses has so far successfully raised over $500.
He joins a huge nationwide effort to get 10,000 people shaving in a mass expression of solidarity for an equal number of New Zealanders estimated to be living with a blood cancer or condition like leukaemia.
Rubbing his shiny pate after being shaved, he said it felt “a bit strange but nonetheless invigorating” to have undergone the chop.
“In respect to the thousands of Kiwi sufferers of leukaemia I’ll be embracing my new hair do until it grows out,” he said.
Stu thanked Queenstown Barbers for donating their time to shave his head for the charity cause.
To help Stu ‘ziiip’ on his way to reach his $1000 target, make a donation by visiting his ‘Shave for a Cure’ page: www.shaveforacure.co.nz/donate_to/4053.
