Lifestyle Farmers Field Day all go
Exhibitor numbers for the premier event for
lifestyle farmers in the lower half of the North Island are
looking very good according to the event organiser, Peter
Burke.
The Lifestyle Farmers Field Day will be held at the Otaki racecourse on Saturday 21 May between 9am and 4pm and this year will be the 20th year the event has been run at Otaki. The event attracts about 100 exhibitors and about 5000 people from the North Island and Peter Burke says each year the event continues to grow.
Burke says this year there’s been an excellent response from exhibitors from right around the central North Island . “ Despite the recession, exhibitors seen keen to showcase their products and a number of new ones are coming along this year. Lifestyle farming is still very popular and new people are buying properties and enjoying the benefits of country living which includes growing their own food. To do this they need good advice and good tools and that’s what get by coming along t the field day,” he says.
“We get a whole range of products and services on show. For example there are a range of cattle and sheep breeds, including miniature cattle. There are tractors and ride-on mowers of all shapes and sizes, nurseries turn out in force as do those who construct farm buildings. There is also information available in the form of technical farm books and farm supply companies that provide goods and services to lifestyle farmers”, says Peter Burke.
Site prices for the Field Day start at $65 for a small half site and up to $230 for a large double site. There is also information on the web site www.lifestylefarmers.co.nz
