Warmup Combines With Pushbikes To Sponsor Cycle Team

Media release 9 June 2010

Leading heating solutions company Warmup have combined with Christchurch cycle stores Pushbikes to sponsor a squad of 15 cyclists for the coming seasons racing.

Warmup Marketing Manager Kelly Chapman said he was very excited to have another major sponsor on board for the team meaning more resources and support for the riders.

“Our focus remains the same – it’s about enjoying the team concept, performing well in our targeted events, supporting each other and our sponsors and enjoying the coffee afterwards,” he said.

“It’s great to now have Pushbikes on board. They have three bike shops in Christchurch and have been very supportive and we’re looking forward to building the relationship with them and delivering some value.”

“We have a good bunch of guys that train a lot together and we’re really looking forward to the team focused Benchmark series, several key tours - including the Tour de Lakes – and the spring and summer racing season.”

Chapman, who is also the team’s Manager and a rider, said the team has evolved from its core bunch of friends riding in the same kit to a more organised team structure and set up he is sure will deliver benefits for the company’s supporting the team.

“The concept has served Warmup well – it’s been great profile for our business and we have really enjoyed supporting local riders as they race all over the country in their various grades and age groups but the time had come to bring a major supporting sponsor on board and I’m also really happy with the other company’s and brands that are supporting us.”
