Glenfield Salvation Army Family Store Goes Digital

The Glenfield Salvation Army Family Store has gone digital and now has a number of donated second hand TVs for sale that are receiving a digital signal from a UHF aerial and Freeview set-top box.

“It’s great to be able to show people that the age of a TV set doesn’t affect its ability to receive digital TV,” says Stu McColl, Glenfield and Highbury Family Store Manager.

“People are surprised and happy when they realise that they don’t need to buy a new TV to go digital.

“If people do need a TV, we have a number in the Glenfield store for sale in a variety sizes, and they are all under fifty dollars. People are welcome to come down to the store and see how a good digital signal works on older TVs,” says Mr McColl.

“And going digital offers viewers more channels and better pictures” says Sam Cummins Going Digital Community Adviser .

“Auckland and Northland go digital on 1 December 2013 and its good to know you don’t need a new TV to go digital because almost any TV can receive a digital signal with the right equipment.

"All you need is a set top box and the appropriate aerial or satellite dish, depending on where you live. If you use a UHF aerial to receive your TV signal, you can also use a TV with built in Freeview.
