Vehicles moving smoothly through single lane access - SH29 Kaimais
Traffic is flowing well through a single lane section of State Highway 29 on the Matamata side of the Kaimais today (April 12), as contractors work to remove a truck from the northbound lane following an accident last night.
NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) State Highway Manager, Brett Gliddon, says although there was some fog this morning, traffic is flowing reasonably well given the one-lane situation.
“Latest reports (midday today) indicate that traffic is not particularly heavy and that motorists are being patient and cautious around this section of SH29.
Mr Gliddon says contractors are making steady progress and things are still on track for the work to be completed by 3.00 pm this afternoon. “In the meantime, we appreciate people’s care and understanding around the situation and we will let people know as soon as the road reopens.”
