“Let it Glow” – Unique Winter Festival Fundraiser

Media Release from Remarkables Parents Association

“Let it Glow” – Unique Winter Festival Fundraiser for Remarkables Primary School

Get ready to glow and dazzle during Winter Festival with an exclusive range of glow products and coloured beads on sale to raise funds for Remarkables Primary School.

Selected as one of three official charities for Winter Festival this year, the Remarkables Parents Association (RPA) will be selling a wide range of novelty products on Opening night, during Family Fun Day and at the Mardi Gras on the final Sunday.

Festival Director Simon Green suggested selling the beads as they are a tradition at many festivals and parades around the world.

“As well as adding colour to the Mardi Gras, it’s a great way to socialise and meet new people. Buy a few strings of different colours and take the opportunity to share them and swap them with others”, Mr Green suggested.

The RPA worked closely with The Bead Shop to source genuine Mardi Gras beads.

Chairperson of the RPA Tracey Pedersen said that the RPA and school community are grateful for being selected as an official charity and excited about the upcoming festival.

“We are thrilled to be involved and look forward to the community’s support. We hope to see glow products and beads everywhere throughout the festival and are grateful for the opportunity to be involved in such an iconic Queenstown event”, she said.

In addition to the beads and glow products, the RPA will be selling a number of yummy treats including sausages and chocolate brownies, and students from Remarkables Primary School have entered a float in to the Winter Festival street parade.

All funds raised by the RPA in 2012 will be used to purchase cultural and outdoor education resources for the students of Remarkables Primary School.
