Wonderful Waiheke house tour

Wonderful Waiheke house tour

Waiheke Islanders are opening up their homes for one day on March 20 in a special fundraising event for the Waiheke Community Art Gallery.

The tour will give people a rare opportunity to see some of the island’s spectacular homes and vistas.

The ‘Wonderful Waiheke House Tour’ supported by Mike Pero Real Estate will include homes from Oneroa to Onetangi as well as a visit to the Waiheke Community Art Gallery.

“Each house has been chosen for its distinct personality and view,” says Waiheke Community Art Gallery director Linda Chalmers. “Our gallery receives no significant institutional funding so each year we need to create an exciting fund raising event to ensure we can continue to show more great art on the island.”

Everyone on the tour will be in to win a BMW for a weekend on the mainland provided by Team McMillan BMW and there will be surprise refreshments at the art gallery provided by Peacock Sky Vineyard.

People can tour by bus or drive themselves with the tour open from 10 am to 4pm. All tickets include a packed lunch. An early bird price of $65 until 17 February includes bus transport, with tickets costing $75 after that date. The self-drive option will be $55. Buses will meet the 9 am Fullers ferry from Auckland and return for the 4pm sailing. Tickets are available from the Waiheke Community Art Gallery in Oneroa – telephone 09 372 7668.
