Seniors Week returns to Upper Hutt
The ninth annual Seniors Week kicks off in Upper Hutt on Monday 23 September.
UPPER HUTT, Wellington NZ, 18 SEP 2013—Next week ushers in an exciting calendar of events for the over 60s to recognise the contribution seniors make to our community. The activities will include an Antiques Roadshow, dancing, musical entertainment, and a special Grandparents’ Storytime.
Upper Hutt Seniors Week is in its ninth year. An original initiative to celebrate International Day of the Older Person has been expanded to a whole week of events and festivities.

Remembering
the Way We Were

Wander down memory lane with a large selection of photos from our heritage collection covering 1940 through to the1980s. Share your knowledge, reminisce and help us preserve Upper Hutt’s past. Andrea Curtis, Upper Hutt City Council’s Director of Community Services says, “Our Mature Residents Survey showed that we need to be providing more activities for seniors. We hope those over 60 will attend the wide variety of interesting events and programmes on offer this year. It’s a great chance to get out of the house, use your Gold Card for transport, meet new people, and have a good time. Best of all, it’s all free!”
