2013 Fitness Industry Awards Winners Announced
After seeing the largest, and most competitive field of entrants to date, the winners for the 2013 Fitness Industry Awards will be announced on Saturday 23rd November at the Sir Paul Reeves Building in Auckland. The 2013 winners represent the truly excellent contributions to health and fitness in New Zealand.
Judges have praised entrants this year, as lifting the bar on all previous years. Head Judge Dr Nigel Harris says “In 2013 we have had a record number of entries, resulting in a line up of finalists in all categories that have all excelled in improving the lives of kiwis in a variety of ways, through exercise. It’s great to be able to celebrate and recognise their success through the awards.”
The 2013 awards have 20 categories, recognising both individuals and facilities that operate in the fitness/exercise industry, as well as awards for those outside the mainstream fitness industry showing a commitment to health and wellness through exercise.
With the exception of four awards, all awards are based on an application process that is reviewed by a judging panel, with finalists announced earlier this month. Audits and mystery shops have taken place throughout November, and the finalists are due to be announced Saturday evening.
The award ceremony itself has proven to be an extremely prestigious event. Past guest speakers have included the Hon John Key, Hon Rodney Hide, Hon Murray McCully and Sue Kedgeley. The award ceremony’s MC is fitness and media personality Suzie Clarkson.
