Network summary for week ending 2 August 2015
Electricity
Our field crews isolated power to five house fires during the week, in Homai, Ellerslie, Stanmore Bay, Te Atatu South and Mangere. An isolation of power was requested at a building fire in central Auckland, but our contractors in attendance advised that an isolation was not necessary.
Our assets escaped damage at only one of six car vs pole incidents on our network during the week. This incident occurred in Epsom North, with the other events taking place in New Lynn North, Massey, Mangere East, Glen Innes and Avondale.
Our crews attended an incident of lines down in Oratia
during the week but no fault was found on Vector’s
network, and the customer was referred to a private
electrician. Vector was stood down by emergency services
from a report of lines down in Stanmore Bay.
Our crews were called to Mt Roskill during the week, to secure an open transformer door.
Gas
Our service provider investigated a smell of gas in New Lynn during the week, but no trace of gas was found.
There were four cases of third party damage to our gas network during the week, in Mt Roskill, Glenfield, Mangere Central and Flagstaff. Our service provider attended, and completed all necessary repairs.
