Motorcyclist collides with Bull
Early this morning the Tauranga based Trustpower TECT Rescue helicopter was dispatched to a rural road west of Te Aroha where a 44 year old Waihi man had collided with a Bull, while riding his motorbike, the Bull had been standing in the middle of the road.
The man had just finished a night shift at a near by factory and was riding home when the accident happened. It was still dark at the time.
The man received chest, shoulder and arm injuries in the crash. He was stabilised at the scene by St John paramedics before being flown to Waikato hospital in a serious condition. The Bull received what appeared to be minor grazes to his shoulder and face, according to a local farmer.
The rescue
helicopter was used due to the nature of the patient's
injuries and distance to hospital.
