Take home a part of Pukeiti rainforest
Take home a part of Pukeiti rainforest
27 July 2016
Do you like native plants? If so, you have the opportunity to take home a living memory from a celebrated Taranaki rainforest.
On Sunday, 7 August, there will be another Explorer Day at Pukeiti for adults and children, and the theme is Pot a Plant.
The Taranaki Regional Council’s Pukeiti – Garden Manager, Andrew Brooker, will lead an onsite walk and talk covering forest systems, plants (and the birds attracted to them), seedlings and more. Participants will then get to pot-up seedlings to take home.
Wet-weather clothing is recommended for the workshop, at 2290 Carrington Rd, New Plymouth. It will be held from 10.30am to 2pm as part of a year-round programme of free public events at Pukeiti, Tupare and Hollard Gardens, the three heritage properties owned and managed by the Taranaki Regional Council on behalf of the people of the region.
For more information, see www.hollardgardens.info, www.pukeiti.org.nz and www.tupare.info. Social media users can also follow the Taranaki Regional Council gardens on Facebook (Taranaki Regional Gardens) and Twitter (@TaranakiRG).
