Sharp pruning tips for home gardeners
27 July 2016
Top techniques for winter pruning will be covered at a free public workshop at Tupare in New Plymouth on Sunday, 7 August.
Aimed at the home gardener, the workshop will focus on pruning ornamental shrubs and climbers such as hydrangeas, roses and camellias; as well as shaping, the right time to prune, and the correct approach according to specimens and condition.
It’s a good opportunity for people to discover how they can maximise the potential of their plants, says Taranaki Regional Council’s Garden Manager – Tupare, Mitch Graham.
The workshop will run from 2pm to 4pm at Tupare, 487 Mangorei Rd. It is part of a year-round programme of workshops and other events at Tupare, Pukeiti and Hollard Gardens, the three heritage properties owned and administered by the Taranaki Regional Council on behalf of the people of the region.
