Owhiro Bay Kindergarten hosts ‘Meet the Candidates Event’
Owhiro Bay Kindergarten hosts ‘Meet the Candidates Event’-Rongotai.
Come listen, learn and ask questions.
Early childhood education is one of the best investments a country can make, and yet the current government has been cutting ECE funding for several years now, eating away at quality.
As part of Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens, Owhiro Bay Kindergarten want to get early childhood education, quality, qualified teachers, and the funding that supports them, clearly on the agenda. It is important that all governments are committed to these things, and that the community demands that level of government support.
Owhiro Bay Kindergarten is one of 85 kindergartens governed by Whānau Manaaki in the Wellington/Wairarapa region.
Hosting this event is important for Owhiro Bay Kindergarten as “education is an essential election issue”, says Senior Head teacher Christina Rizos.
“We wanted to give our families the opportunity to have their voices heard by their local candidates, and give families the platform to ask questions”. – Senior Head Teacher Christina Rizos when asked why they decided to host the event.
Owhiro Bay Kindergarten is hosting a meet the candidate’s event. This will be a great opportunity not only for families to get involved but to quiz candidates and put them to the test.
All are welcome!
The event is being held on September
6th from 7pm to 8.30pm.
