Showcase Event Promotes Wellington’s Finest Food & Beverage
Wellington’s reputation as a food and beverage destination will grow following the expansion of ‘Wellington On A Plate’ from two weeks to a full month in 2019, according to the Wellington Chamber of Commerce.
"Our hospitality members are rightly proud of what they produce 365 days of the year - now their showcase event is doubling to 31 days," says Chief Executive John Milford.
"The extremely popular Visa Wellington On A Plate successfully brings customers in during what would otherwise be a quieter period.
"The feedback we’ve received from our members and customers is overwhelmingly positive, so expanding the event makes sense.
"This is part of the city’s strategy to have lively events staggered throughout the calendar, giving people more reasons to visit Wellington.
"I look forward to tasting what next year’s
p
articipants cook up and seeing Wellington’s bars and
restaurants
humming."
