Update: Bledisloe Street, Levin
A man involved in an incident in Bledisloe Street, Levin has
been transported
to hospital in a critical condition and
is being treated for smoke
inhalation.
Police
would like to reassure residents impacted by the incident in
Bledisloe
Street that we are working at pace to ensure
they can return to their homes
as quickly as
possible.
While the man involved has been
transported to hospital, some work does
remain to ensure
that there is no ongoing risk to people in the area.
“We know that this incident has been very disruptive
for those residents
who were evacuated, as well as being
very unsettling for the wider
community,” says
Inspector Sarah Stewart, Manawatū Area Commander.
“I want to thank you all again for the cooperation,
patience and resilience
you’ve shown as we worked to
resolve this situation.”
A further update will be
provided once the property is made safe and cordons
are
being lifted.
