Parts Of The Top Half Of The South Island And West Coast Without Power After Fault
Parts of the top half of the South Island and the West Coast are without power this morning due to severe weather affecting Transpower’s network.
We have teams investigating the issue and are working through plans to restore power, while keeping our crews safe.
We have been able to restore power to some areas including Kaikoura and Culverden. Provided there are no further issues on the network we expect to be able to restore the remaining power in approximately three hours.
We will provide updates on our website and Facebook page. People affected should also check the websites of their retailers and local lines companies for up-to-date detailed outage information in their area.
