A Positive Approach To Retail Management

A Positive Approach To Retail Management

Putting better service, streamlined sales and the power of an effective management solution at retailers’ fingertips is the key to a new product, about to be launched in New Zealand by MYOB.

POSITive Touch is a touch screen point-of-sale interface, designed to work in conjunction with MYOB RetailManager, Australasia’s largest selling point-of-sale software solution. The product has been acquired by MYOB, in response to demand from the hospitality sector in both Australia and New Zealand.

MYOB General Manager David Lowe says POSITive Touch will provide a new level of integrated support for New Zealand businesses in the hospitality sector, allowing them to manage their point of sale, payroll and accounting needs.

“POSITive Touch will enable the hospitality industry, which makes up around 28% of the retail sector, to take advantage of a simple and effective touch screen system, which links in real time to MYOB RetailManager,” David Lowe says.

“By introducing POSITive Touch to the hospitality industry, we’re enabling businesses to gain the benefits of using a comprehensive, ‘one-stop’ solution.”

POSITive Touch was designed by Bizpro, an Australasian group specialising in providing MYOB solutions. The company, which was established in 1999, has spent over 12 months developing and testing POSITive Touch in the Australian and New Zealand markets.

Bizpro General Manager David Rose says the company recognised the demand for a product that would allow owners of bars, restaurants and cafes to manage sales and orders, using a touch screen system that combines with the extremely popular MYOB RetailManager.

“We saw that many franchise companies in particular were extremely keen to adopt a simple and cost-effective system like POSITive Touch,” David Rose says.

“The response so far has been excellent, with very positive feedback from our trial partners and many inquiries from the trade.”

The POSITive Touch sales processing interface offers a range of features, including grouping and categorising of displayed items, options for configuring Fast Cash buttons, and the ability to track tables and transfer printed orders. The solution is also designed to be easily customised, with a user-friendly administration programme that allows businesses to configure all aspects of the solution and quickly update menu or product items.

“POSITive Touch was developed with the New Zealand market in mind, and trialled in a number of busy local businesses,” David Lowe says.

“Our launch of this new product is one of the many ways MYOB is extending its support of New Zealand businesses, by giving them the tools to work more effectively.”

“POSITive Touch is just one of many new offerings MYOB is looking to bring to the dynamic New Zealand retail market.”

POSITive Touch will be released in New Zealand in January 2005. The product, which will be branded as part of the MYOB family, will be available through MYOB Approved Partners.
