Auckland Buyers Snap Up Universal Homes

Auckland Buyers Snap Up Universal Homes In Tauranga

Auckland buyers are snapping up properties at The Landing, Universal Homes' community at The Lakes, Tauranga's exciting new grand-scale residential development.

The Albany-based builder has 19 homes currently under construction. Nine have already sold, and most of the buyers are Aucklanders looking for investment property and holiday homes.

"It has been amazing," says Universal Homes' sales manager Mike Pearce. "The Landing has really captured people's imaginations fulfilling their dream of a quality home in an attractive, community-focused neighbourhood."

Construction of the properties is well under way with the North Shore-based company on track to open the site's first show home on November 17.

"Thanks to the great crew of Tauranga-based contractors and suppliers, we are four weeks ahead of schedule and we are very excited to be the first building company opening a show home on this landmark development," says Mike.

The show home is a two-storey, four-bedroom house, designed specifically for the section. When it opens, it will give the public their first opportunity to see a completed home on the 254-hectare The Lakes site.

The show home reflects the same specifications as other Universal properties planned for The Landing, and incorporates a new system of full wiring for all home technology which the company is pioneering on the development.

Over the next three years, Universal will design and construct more than 100 houses of 13 different designs at The Landing. Each home will be stand-alone, providing plenty of visual variety, with floor plans from 167 to 221 square metres. Prices for the properties range from $485,000 to $570,000.

Overall, 2000 homes will be built at The Lakes which has been designed to incorporate parks and reserve areas, children's playgrounds, lakes, walks and cycle ways, along with a shopping centre, and childcare and medical facilities. Strict design guidelines are in place for the entire The Lakes area.

The Landing is Universal Homes' first major development in Tauranga since the 1970s.
