Scampi Fishery Agreed In Principle
Inquiry into Scampi Fishery to be considered by the Primary Production Select Committee
The Primary Production Select Committee has agreed in principle to undertake an inquiry into the scampi fishery, subject to agreement on the terms of reference of the inquiry. This follows allegations of corruption, unfairness and incompetence with respect to the administration and management of the scampi fishery.
Members of the committee are to take draft terms of reference to their respective party caucuses before the matter is finalised at the committee’s next meeting, to be held on Thursday, 7 November 2002.
