Young people get $56m for jobs, education or training
The Progressives have achieved another step towards our key cornerstone commitments today with a $56m package to put everyone under 20 in jobs, education or training by 2007, Jim Anderton MP said.
"Young people need to move quickly from school into work or training to ensure they have the best opportunity to start off on the right track for skills development and continued employment.
"The comprehensive $56m package announced today by the Labour Progressive government gives our young people the support they need to start out in the workforce. Jobs and training are key to keeping youth on the right track for a positive and successful future.
"Support for young people to gain
skills and work contribute both to the well being of our
youth as well as the future of our economy. That is why the
Progressives have a cornerstone commitment to get everyone
under 20 in jobs, education or training by 2005," Jim
Anderton
said.
