New ways to keep up to date with changes to legislation
The New Zealand Legislation website, www.legislation.govt.nz, now provides powerful and flexible web feeds that alert users to changes on the website. This is good news for anyone with an interest in legislation—whether you want to keep up to date with a specific Act, want to track a Bill’s progress, or need to know about changes in a particular area.
The web feeds (sometimes called RSS feeds) can be tailored to your needs. You can subscribe to ready-made feeds, for example to be alerted to all new Acts, or all Bills, published in the last 30 days. You can also set up your own feed from a specific search or browse of the website, or from an individual Act, Bill, or Regulation.
It is easy to subscribe, and it is free. All you need is a feed reader, which comes built in to many browsers (such as Firefox or Internet Explorer), or can be downloaded for free. See the web feeds page at http://www.legislation.govt.nz/atombuilder.aspx for more information and for help with setting up feeds.
