Dunne welcomes Transmission Gully
final approval
UnitedFuture Leader and Ohariu
MP Peter Dunne has welcomed the final approval this morning
of Transmission Gully, saying years of campaigning for it
were now coming to fruition.
“Transmission Gully is absolutely central to securing the future transport and economic needs of the Wellington region,” he said.
It is crucial to giving people the kind of access to and from the city that they will need in future.
“It has been a long battle but frankly, this is the only decision that ever made sense and it had to come,” Mr Dunne said.
“Transmission Gully’s new four-lane route is on the way and it is exactly the kind of progress the Wellington region needs,” he said.
“This is an exciting day for Wellingtonians who have consistently shown that they want this road.”
