Christchurch Response To War Against Iraq
Christchurch Response If Outright War Against Iraq
Commences
The people of Christchurch will gather in Cathedral Square 5-30 pm on the day they hear of such an attack. They will stand silently near the Chalice until the clock chimes 6pm. This will signal the time to form a large circle around the Square by holding hands. The people will then make their way to the Cathedral steps where groups and individuals, who so choose, will place a flower to indicate their outpouring of grief and solidarity toward suffering humanity. The Dean of the Cathedral will speak and bring the demonstration to a close. This action has inter-faith and inter-organisational support.
