Woman Leader Elected

Elected at the National Conference of NCWNZ held in Palmerston North over the weekend, Christchurch woman, Christine Low, has taken up the challenge of being the National President of the National Council of Women of New Zealand (NCWNZ). NCWNZ represents the views of women who are affiliated to 42 nationally organised societies and 33 branches throughout New Zealand.

Christine Low has served on the NCWNZ Board of Management for the past six years and has a passion for improving the quality of lives for women, families and society. She brings a wealth of local and national experience to the role of National President from her affiliations to community organisations and her full time employment managing a freight forwarding company.

Elected to serve with her on the new Board of Management are First Vice President Elizabeth Bang of Hamilton; Second Vice President, Margaret Cook of Invercargill; National Treasurer, Margaret Barron of Auckland; and Board Members Barbara Arnold of Palmerston North, Christina Reymer of Hamilton and Patricia Woodley of Auckland. The Board represents a wide range of interests and diverse backgrounds.

All positions on the NCWNZ Board of Management are for a two-year term and provide opportunities for women to develop new skills and gain leadership experience.
