Hearings to review Zaoui sec. certificate delayed
Hearings to review certificate in Zaoui case delayed
Hearings to review the security risk certificate lodged against Ahmed Zaoui have been delayed.
The first hearing was scheduled to begin in Auckland on August 7.
Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security, former Justice Paul Neazor, who is reviewing the issuing of the security risk certificate, says more time is needed before the hearings can commence.
“This is the first time we have been through this process in New Zealand. The issues are complex and difficult.”
It’s expected the hearings will be timetabled after meetings with counsel during the next month or two.
