Grey Power Horrified At Rates Statement

Grey Power deplore the statements of the mayors of North Shore and Auckland that 'to meet the rate demands, the ratepayer should take a loan from a bank'.

It is the profligate spending plans of councils that cause the increases and these come from not spending on core services but on other plans like new council buildings.

Many of our members are asset rich and cash poor and depend on NZS as sole income, so have little ability to meet increased demands on that limited income.
